| Boy Scouts
can participate in the largest annual International Scouting
event, the annual Jamboree-on-the-Air or JOTA. Each
year SPARK Lodge opens up for JOTA all day for the event.
JOTA is always the third full weekend of October each year.
Be sure to check our Schedule for the exact date that SPARK
will be open. Scouts on there own can participate for
as long as they want in the activities. Scouting units
should be mindful that we will see a lot of other units
during the day and we want to be sure to get all of the
Scouts who come out for JOTA on the air talking to someone
somewhere.
The SPARK Lodge Amateur
Radio Club offers merit badge courses in radio, computers,
electricity, electronics, and weather.

Provisional
courses are offered in the spring and the fall.
Courses for units of 4 or more Scouts are generally
scheduled separately.
The courses are
offered at SPARK Lodge at Camp Delmont on the Musser Scout
Reservation (directions). They
are held on Saturdays from 9:00 AM to about 4:00 PM. A
registration fee of $5.00 is charged per Scout per course
and supports the program at SPARK Lodge.
Notebooks and pens/pencils
will be needed but merit badge books, while helpful, are not
required.
Scouts attending
a provisional course need to provide their own
transportation and brown-bag lunch. Units
desiring to camp on the Musser Scout Reservation need to
make camping reservations with the
Cradle of Liberty Council.
The Scout uniform
is appropriate attire for all courses.
Scouts desiring to attend a provisional course
should fill out and submit the
application form.
Troop leaders desiring to schedule a troop course
may do so if and only if
your troop is camping at Camp Delmont, Musser Scout
Reservation
should:
- Check our schedule
for an open date or one that is listed as Camp Program, and
- Make arrangements for the troop course well
in advance of your troop camping trip at Delmont with
