CUB SCOUT PROGRAM

Cub Scouts can participate in the largest annual International Scouting event, the annual Jamboree-on-the-Air or JOTA.  Each year SPARK Lodge opens up for JOTA all day for the event.  JOTA is always the third full weekend of October each year.  Be sure to check our Schedule for the exact date that SPARK will be open.  Cub Scouts on there own can participate for as long as they want in the activities.  Cub Scout units should be mindful that we will see a lot of other units during the day and we want to be sure to get all of the Scouts who come out for JOTA on the air talking to someone somewhere.

SPARK Lodge provides mini-programs (less than two hours) for Cub Scouts.

Visiting an amateur radio station and learning about radio communications can help earn a number of awards in Cub Scouting.  It is a Big Idea for Tiger Cubs and can help fulfill requirements for the Communicator Award for Webelos.  Cubs working on the Wolf award can learn about the Morse Code and try their hand at sending messages.  And Cubs working on their Bear award can get help building electrical and electronics projects.

To arrange for a special project for your Cub Scout Den or Pack, contact Rick Blank at Rick@k3bsa.org  or (215) 459-0087
