Visiting an amateur radio station and learning about radio communications can help earn a number of awards in Cub Scouting. It is a Big Idea for Tiger Cubs and can help fulfill requirements for the Communicator Skill Award for Webelos. Cubs working on the Wolf award can learn about the Morse Code and try their hand at sending messages. And Cubs working on their Bear award can get help building electrical and electronics projects.
