In this picture, you see the root base of the fallen tree.
This picture shows two rocks that were knocked loose when the tree fell. They fell directly into the void left by the fallen trees root base.
This picture shows the bottom of the route base with a big rock stuck in the bottom of it. It is not directly under the tree trunk.
A picture of the tree laying in front of SPARK Lodge. This also shows the electric cable and overhead wires that were ripped from the building.
Another look at the electric cable that was pulled off of the wall. This time the box remained attached to the wall.
This picture shows part of the top branches of the tree. Part of the G5RV was wrapped around one of the top branches.
If you can see it, this shows part of the break in the overhead neutral wire.
This shows more of the top branches of the tree. You can also see a gray tree that has been leaned over by the top branches of the fallen tree.
From another angle, this picture shows the bottom of the gray tree that has been bent over by the top branches of the fallen tree.
Another shot of the overhead wires.
A close up of the overhead wires laying on top of the shed (old shower house).
A close up of one part of the broken nuetral from the overhead wires.
Close up of top branches that have both of the dipole antennas wrapped around them. One leg of the G5RV is wrapped around one branch.
This is the part of the broken nuetral closest to SPARK Lodge.
A close up of the other end of the broken neutral. As you can see, it came apart at the bug.
The tree part to the left, a broken piece of one of the top branches, hangs from the tree pictured to the right.
The smashed balun of the SPARKmade dipole antenna was in there. Really it was. Rick, WB3BSA, and Jim, N3LBY, pulled the balun out from under there.
This shows the bottom half of the branch that was broken in half. The other half is the one hanging in another tree close by.
Getting closer to the top of the fallen tree.
Another angle shows three trees involved, and the bottom of the hanging half of one of the top branches.
At the top of one part of the tree.
One more angle of the electric box and wires.
Boy it sure looks dark in there. Hey what happened to the smaller pieces of the tree trunk? What's in that white trash bag?
Here is one piece of the tree trunk. It has three nails in it. It was the biggest piece and Rick just couldn't steer it any other way.
Here are four more pieces that were steered towards the shed.
Here are more of the moveable pieces of the tree trunk.
How old was this tree? Rick stopped counting at 70 rings. He estimates that there were still at least 30 rings or more to go.
Don't know where the other leg of the G5RV went. Could not find it. The Balun of the SPARKmade dipole was smashed although the coax looks ok.
It's a steel bug. Good thing it is not a big spider, hi, hi.
Danger, danger, danger. Danger Will Robinson.
Smashed balun. Another antenna destroyed.
This part of the branch is still attached to the tree trunk.
Are we there yet? Is it almost over? Almost.
You haven't seen it all yet.
Rick rolled several pieces of the tree trunk away from the front of the building as promised. The white trash bag contains items the Rick bought a couple of weeks ago and would have been his Friday night dinner, Saturday morning breakfast, and Saturday lunch. That food all perished due to the lack of electricity for the past week.
It sits by the rock that would be to the left of the trail that goes up to Gren Day.
Its done! This slide show is now over. Thanks for viewing.
